Less air pollution and traffic noise

Cars and trucks are responsible for about 19% of pollutant emissions in Germany. Furthermore, diesel motors and tire particles produce particulate matter, which can cause respiratory diseases. Since 2005, the European Union has defined prescriptive limits.

In order to make road traffic more environmentally friendly, we need a lot of different instruments – for example cars with less fuel consumption, new drive concepts, attractive public transportation, enough space for cyclists and pedestrians, and efficient traffic control. It is about using all instruments.

Efficient traffic control contributes to less air pollution. Network control in Ingolstadt reduces waiting times at red lights and consequently fuel consumption. This means that CO2 pollution and particulate matter are reduced significantly – extrapolated to one year, 1.600 tons less CO2 are polluting the air.

With The informed driver, AUDI shows how to drive efficiently, intelligent and economical. If you have to use your brakes less, as well fewer pollutants are emitted into the air.
